N°44 – M&A. E2open Acquires BluJay

Supply Chain technology provider E2open is acquiring Manchester, UK-based transportation specialist BluJay Solutions. With its platforms designed to manage freight transportation and global trade compliance, BluJay adds customs declarations and filing, trucking and airfreight management capability and expertise to E2open’s global transportation network, along with direct-to-consumer offerings such as last mile, parcel and dropship commerce. Its integrated SaaS platform counts over 5,700 customers and 50,000 users including shippers, Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) and Freight Forwarders, handing nearly 2 billion transactions yearly. Already ranked 9th among Supply Chain Software providers by Gartner, the new larger E2open should reach over $ 550m in annual sales and be worth about $1.7 bn. “Combining E2open’s end-to-end platform and large trading partner network with BluJay’s leading logistics execution software, we will provide more robust capabilities and value to our customers, unlocking a greater opportunity to accelerate our long-term growth. This transformative acquisition advances our strategy and is consistent with our approach to M&A over the last 5 years” said Michael Farlekas, President and Chief Executive Officer at E2open.
